Its not all bad news. I had a spare A4988 controller. But i plan to fix this one, by simply swapping the IC…
Its already prep’ed for surgery.. just need to get that IC. I plan to buy like 20 or more from china. Since that seems to be the only source for them.
The reason for it blowing was purely accidental and my fault… i didnt screw the terminals good enough on that motor and the wire slipped out and… well you can guess the rest 🙁 but the only thing damaged was that one IC on that one controller board. Lucky me!
I have since fixed/replaced and did new wiring 🙂
