Ok just got some samples in from Atmel and i cant wait to play with them.
1) ATSAM3U1CA-AU (32bit ARM)
2) ATMEGA1280-16AU (8bit AVR)
The ATMEGA1280 i plan to use in the new version of the AtomCNC. Before i can do any testing, since these are SMT devices i have to get some boards made.
So starting tonight and tomorrow, ill be making the EagleCAD Parts and then creating basic board for both of these ICs. Then ill use my favorite fab house (OSHPark) to make the PCBs and just wait for them to come in to start actual tinkering.
I might make a at home PCB but it seems too much now for some reason. I think im spoiled 🙂

A thought just came to me… I should document and record the process of creating the eagle part and post it on youtube.
