My Daughter has this cool Teddy since Christmas and it just vanished… 🙁 but we have the little night lights that accompany it. Its the Starshine Watchdog..
So instead of throwing it out i decided to do a little work around and have it stay on as a night light. In the future i may simply make a motion sense pcb and have it auto on/off. For now the simple ON/OFF switch on bottom will do.
Once open you will notice the PCB is very basic and the LED can be connected to directly. First i find the power for the LED. I see its tied to VCC via a resistor so i know the mcu controls gnd to it. So we find gnd first.
Circled above is GND… not VCC is also tied to the switch so it makes this dead simple. We can hard wire the GND wire to the LED so the switch basically controls the LED only.
Close it back up and test it 🙂 Works of course!
Now we have a fully functional night light that works with a simple switch. No external teddy needed 😀
