Hey everyone, im already planing the future AtomCNC v2 which is code named “AtomCNCn3D”
As you can guess by the name, it wont be limited to CNC machines. It will be usable on 3D printers also. Will allow for 5 Axis (X,Y,Z,A,B) … X,Y,Z is the normal stuff. The other 2 axis depends on your setup.

For example with the Shapeoko:
3D: A will be Y2, B will be for the Extruder for 3D Printing.
CNC:  A will be Y2, B will be for rotating X or Y
CNC2: A will be to Rotate Y and B for Rotating X

You can see some combinations there but its up to the user and firmware used. This will use a Atmega2561, Small, good pin count and tons of flash memory for firmware… 256KB, Also have 4KB Eeprom for storing settings or what ever and nice RAM amount.

Im currently planning on it with the A4988 controllers but i might reconsider, still researching on that.
