Been messing with this lcd controller for a good week now.\u00a0 Thought I’d give my thoughts on it. I no writing experience so I though I’d layout some pros n cons.<\/p>\n
First thing I must state is im using it on a 7in tft display @ 800×480. Also in 4 wire spi mode.<\/p>\n
Pros.<\/strong>. Cons… (SPI, I2C aka SERIAL MODES)<\/strong> Pros of other modes… (PARALLEL – untested)<\/strong><\/p>\n Should not be too difficult to work with Cons (Parallel)<\/strong> <\/p>\n CONS ALL AROUND<\/strong> To be honest. These displays are cool and work great still with some coding tricks but don’t get this for anything near video performance. \nIn SPI mode it is fairly easy to program and display data
\nOnly needs 4 wires
\nSimple PCB Design<\/p>\n
\nSlow as heck!
\nBTE (Burst Transfer Engine) only available in PARALLEL \u00a0mode<\/p>\n
\nFAST (i assume)
\nBTE available, with transparency a +<\/p>\n
\nSO MANY WIRES!
\nPCB DESIGN & COST<\/p>\n
\nAt this display size i only get 1 layer @ 64k colors.. to use 2 layers i would have to switch to 256 colors which sux
\nDatasheet doesn’t give much info on actual MAX SPEEDS<\/p>\n
